CHLA 3.0 2010-11 Season Starts Today!

Tonight will mark a historic date in CHLA history, as the puck will drop for the first time! I'll get the matchups posted around 3 or 4 and hopefully the sims can be completed around 5 or 6! Here's to a great season CHLAers!

EDIT: Okay I lied. I got a chance to see my girlfriend today instead, so that's more important to me. Sims will get started this week however.

Logo Packages

If anyone needs a logo package and or a jersey for their teams, leave a comment and tell me what colors, and I'll work on them.

Division Names

We can go with the simple "North, South, West" monikers, or we can go with the divisions either by historical player name, or by owner last names. Any ideas?

i.e. the Racers could play in the Gretzky division since he first played here in Indy...

Logos and Jerseys

So, I'd like to get the season started in a week or two, and to do that we're gonna need our teams some logos and jerseys! If you guys could get those done, that'd be great - if Mykl or TC wanna make a set for the SF Eagles, their colours are maroon and gold (think BC).

But yeah, I'd like to have most of our teams with logos by this time next week.

Additionally, I'm hoping to get the season started next week if that's cool with everyone? It'll be 50 games on 50 days, but I won't be simming anywhere near every day.

2010 CHLA Entry Draft

League Rules

So, there's a lot of stuff we can customize with the league, and I wanna hear what you guys have to say about them.

Icing

-No Touch Icing (Juniors, Europe, Olympics, etc)

-Regular (NHL, fight to the line)

Penalties

-Sliders range from 1-4 (3 is default)

Fighting

-Sliders range from 0-2 (1 would be normal)

Playoff Series Length (8 teams make it)

-Best of 5 per Series

-Best of 7 per Series

Playoff Tiebreak

-Continuous OT (default)

-5 min 4-on-4 then shootout

Overtime Loss

-1 Point

-0 Points

Playoff Seeding

-By Top Records

-By Division Champs, then the Wildcards

Home Jersey Color

-Dark (Recent NHL)

-White (Traditional)

NOTE: Doing either of the American scoring systems would force us into doing our own playoffs independent of the game's, where you could conceptually have divisions. The season structure of 50 games gives you 6 games against 3 teams while you play the other 8 only 4 times, creating 3 natural divisions. I think we'll do that.

ALSO: Unless we get some (more) votes, I'll go with what's italicized.

Draft Date and Time

The Inaugural CHLA Entry Draft will be held on Tuesday, October 5th at 9:15 PM EDT/6:15 PDT. The order and draft pool are in the post below this one, and any team not there can request another owner to autopick for them, or I will. When you download the file, please select the players in red text first, as these are starters, while the last 3 rounds will be the blue players, reserves. The draft will be conducted via a chatroom supplied by CoveritLive and will be on a post on the blog. Hopefully you can make it!

Also, as a request, will the owners that have not chosen team names choose their team names and colors in the near future? Logos aren't a necessity, but I'd like to have all of them by the end of the week.

PS: Will anyone that isn't friends with me on Facebook add me? It's nice to have easy access to message everyone on there about spur of the moment issues.
