Winnipeg Jets New Identity

Finally, the Winnipeg Jets have unveiled a new identity. The logos ( done by me, with ideas from N.E.P. ) are an update on the former jets identity. I don't have much to say, except I've got about 5/8 identities complete, so hopefully they'll all be done soon. So comment below, and congrats to the Jets.

I just decided to go with the normal hockey points system, 2 for a win, 1 for an OT loss, o for a regulation loss.

I also edited the format of some things on the right Kevin.

Also, chickenfish when you get done with the logos can you send them to me?

Let's Get This Started

Alright, so I'm just gonna put it out there that it's time (IMO) to get this thing underway. What are your guys' thoughts?

Oh, and Go Manatees!

Missouri Freedom

OK guys, I know originally I had the Lumberjacks, than Yellow Jackets, but I think I've finalized my team. So, I introduce to you the Missouri Freedom:

So, if you've seen this on the board, you pretty much know what is going on with this. I know it's for a redesign of a CHL team, but the name doesn't actually exist, so if it's all OK, I'm using the identity here. Not much to say about the logos, the primary is an Eagle head, representing the U.S.A. The tattered flag represents the fight to Freedom, and the tertiary doesn't represent anything- It's pretty much just an stylized F over a star. So, hopefully this is OK, but if not, comment below.

Team Identites

Hey Guys. In anticipation of the league starting soon, I was wondering where we are at with Team Identities. I designed the logos for the Mahoning Manatees, and I think they are set, as well as my Victoria Lumberjacks are set. I would be glad to help anyone with an identity. So, just say what's going on with your logos. Thanks.

EDIT:
Actually, if there are no objections, I think I may change the name to the Victoria Yellow Jackets. I'm working on a yellow jacket logo, and it's not being used for anything, so I might as well use it here.

League News

So me and sizemore talked about it and we have decided on a few things. First off, the season will consist of ten games, like the MiLF used to. Also we will have a three point system, a win is 2 points, an overtime loss is 1 point, and a regulation loss is 0 points. Four teams will make it to the playoffs, and each round there will be a three game seris. Also the games will run for 5 minute periods.

Your leader breaking into this post here b/c if everyone didn't see it Kevin didn't understand what I meant by the 3-point system... The 3-point system used by the IIHF is as follows:

3 points for a regulation win
2 points for an overtime win
1 point for an overtime loss
0 points for a regulation loss

The reason it's called the 3-point system is that 3 points are awarded each game. Like? Dislike? PM? Well unless you happen to be Mr. BeasTC :P

Jersey Cuts

As of now, there is no specific rule on jersey cuts for the league. I don't know if sizemore wants a cut rule or not, but either way I would be happy to share these custom cuts I created.

First off is the cut I used, simple, yet effective. I give you the CLASSIC CUTNext is another more retro style cut, the CANADA CUT Next is a more modern, Anaheim looking cut, the SWOOSH CUT Last, a throwback type cut, the PILOT CUT
Anyone, feel free to use these if you want.

Preseason Schedule

Alright guys, with the end of the MLF season right around the corner, it's time to get serious with the CHLA. With that being said, I have set up a 5 week preseason schedule. It is to start TOMORROW! There will be four games a week, 1 game per team, with two games played on Monday, and two games played on Wednesday. All games should be played around 7:oo PM, but are subject to change, due to my busy schedule. Don't let that woory you however, I will sim the games on time most often. With all that said, owners, players, and fans get ready for your Spring 2009 presason!

Week 2:Monday-CI @KC/ QUE @RIC Wednesday- ALB @WIN/ BIR @SEA

Compromise

Alright, here's an idea;

We have a "Game of the Week" for the next 7 or 11 weeks on Friday night or Saturday (Kevin will be simming, yay!), giving each team 2 or 3 games (and we could play these in Europe), and then after the MLF season, we start a full slate.

Monday, February 16, 2009

Team Websites

For the CHLA, every team MUST have a website and will unviel all team news there. Each team's website MUST be up and running by Saturday at 12:00 AM (Friday 9:00 PM on the West Coast) or the team will face disciplinary action. I will be the only one to be able to make posts on the site as to avoid clutteration.

Thank you,

Sizemore Matters

Continental Hockey League of America Announces "Inaugural Eight"

INDIANAPOLIS (AP)- Today, January 30th, the Continental Hockey League of America announced that the markets of Indianapolis, Richmond, Quebec City, Winnipeg, Albuquerque, Birmingham, Kansas City, and Seattle will field teams for the 2009 season. Owner of the league, and the local Central Indiana Blue Jackets franchise, Carson was quoted as saying, "This is a great day for the league. We are very excited to have this league in place, and are pleased with our markets. It was time to bring professional hockey to Indianapolis." The Blue Jackets will play at Conseco Fieldhouse. More details to develop later.

And you guys will eventually be able to make new posts.

Also, I still need nicknames from the Birmingham and Seattle franchises.

League Logo!

Time to create a league logo! PM your league logos if you wish to me on the Boards via Photobucket/Imageshack/etc. or e-mail me at alexcarson97@yahoo.com

What this league is for

I just want to clear up any confusion that this is intended to be a simulation hockey league, not a fantasy hockey league. I just wanted to make that clear.

If this has confused anyone, I'm sorry.

EDIT: I think I made that clear in my sig and on the MLF website, but i might not have.
